Dundee Rock has worked extensively with paint manufacturers and suppliers to develop special paint products and labeling systems customised for use in remote communities. A number of new products designed specifically for use in remote communities have been available since 2009. 

Specialised paint products in the new range will include paints formulated to inhibit the growth of moulds – a constant challenge in the humid tropics. There will also be paints with heat reflecting characteristics – important tools in the pursuit of energy efficient housing. 

Another feature of the new product range developed by Dundee Rock will be a simplified, no-nonsense labeling system designed to clear up the confusion caused by the labeling of many existing paint products. Labels will simply and clearly identify what products can be used for, and how they should be applied. No spin, just the facts. This will be especially useful for people who use English as their second or third language. There will also be the capacity for labeling in local languages.
